Simone Willis (BMus Hons, DipABRSM)
With over ten years of experience teaching the violin, I run a private studio in Cardiff. I have taught the violin for South Gloucestershire Music Hub, as well as several schools across Wales and the South West. I regularly perform in concerts with orchestras and chamber music ensembles, and have recently performed with the British Sinfonietta, Cardiff Sinfonietta and the Welsh Session Orchestra.
I gained a BMus (Hons) in 2014 form the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where I studied the violin. My time at RWCMD allowed me to develop my musicianship skills as well as broaden my understanding of music.
I am also studying for an MPhil/PhD at Cardiff Metropolitan University, where I am based in the School of Sport and Health Sciences. The working title of my project is Stress and Well-being of Professional and Conservatoire Musicians. My research focuses on professional classical musicians, who currently work in the profession, and music college students. Have a look at my article written for The Conversation and my blog article written for the ISM for more information on my research.
