Simone Willis (DipABRSM)
Currently, I teach the violin for South Gloucestershire Music Hub, as well as several schools across the South West. I regularly perform in concerts with orchestras, and have recently performed with the British Sinfonietta, Cardiff Sinfonietta and the Welsh Session Orchestra.
I studied the violin at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, which allowed me to develop my musicianship skills as well as broaden my understanding of music. As a child I was very enthusiastic about playing the violin and I have been learning since I was five. I attended the Birmingham Conservatoire Junior Department and was a member of the CBSO Youth Orchestra. Since then I have gained experience performing in numerous concerts with orchestras and ensembles.
During summer 2011 I studied at the University of Auckland in New Zealand with Elizabeth Holowell as part of the RWCMD International Exchange Programme. During this time I had intensive violin lessons, focusing on the technical development of my violin playing.
